Out Now: Bird photography book, ‘Birds of The Tropical Andes’
I’m excited to have been working with internationally acclaimed bird photographer Owen Deutsch on the publicity campaign for his forthcoming book, Birds of the Tropical Andes.
Co-authored by Michael J. Parr, President of the American Bird Conservancy, it reveals the incredible bird life of one of the world’s most breathtaking birding regions – the Tropical Andes in South America.
Bird photography book by Owen Deutsch and Michael J. Parr
Published on July 8, 2025, via Princeton University Press, Birds of the Tropical Andes celebrates Andean birds and the habitats they depend on.
It’s a stunning full-colour fine art photography book featuring over 200 images, and is a guide to the birdlife of one of the world’s most biodiverse and visually stunning regions of the world.
Supporting Bird Conservation
Featuring a foreword by ornithologist Álvaro Jaramillo and contributions from leading conservationists including Sara Inés Lara, Martin Schaeffer, Rodrigo W. Soria Auza and Constantin Aucca Chutas, Birds of the Tropical Andes offers a rare, visually captivating journey through the extraordinary birdlife of the region.
With glowing endorsements from renowned authors Jonathan Franzen and Amy Tan, the book sheds light on the urgent need for bird conservation in one of the world’s most biodiverse landscapes.
100% of the royalties for Birds of the Tropical Andes will be donated to the American Bird Conservancy to help fund their conservation efforts throughout the Americas.
Bird photographer Owen Deutsch said: “Both Michael and I have spent considerable time in the Andes independently, and we also carried out four joint photographic expeditions to the region, including travels in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. We are excited to release this new book, which features vivid bird photography as well as insights into the region’s habitats and the extraordinary birds that live there.”

The book would be a great gift for yourself or fellow nature lovers, birders, wildlife photographers and conservationists, for any occasion!
